Methodologies

Proven methodologies to improve operational performance.

Project Management Methodology

Our Project management methodology is aligned with the Project Management Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK). This includes using a phased and integrated approach for each project.  We use entrance and exit criteria as we transition from one project phase to another. Throughout our project management process and methodology we apply the standards found in SEI CMMI Level 3.  We developed full standards and policies for these CMMI standards and they are incorporated into each project management plan. Elements of our project management methodology include:

  • Organization and planning
  • Staff alignment and assignment management
  • Quality evaluation methods and approvals
  • Schedule development and alignment with budget and other client initiatives and activities
  • Budget tracking and allocation across major milestones and deliverables
  • Communications
  • Multiple task order management
  • Staffing to include recruiting and training
  • Status reporting, issue management and escalation

System Development Lifecycle Methodologies

BroadPoint has experience across multiple SDLC models including the Oracle Application Implementation Methodology (AIM), the Microsoft SureStep methodology and multiple specific government agency methodologies. Regardless of the methodology, we adhere to disciplined activities within each SDLC phase, ensure we work within existing client processes and policies, and demonstrate clear and tangible results frequently throughout the process. In addition, our methodology includes those support and control activities that are critical to project success. Examples include testing, IV&V, change management systems, document and milestone management and configuration, and best practice management.

Quality Assurance Management

BroadPoint developed a strong QA system which we apply to our projects.  It includes five major areas of activities that are managed by the Project Manager.  We may assign a QA Manager to the project depending on size and complexity, but have on staff a Project Quality Assurance Director to oversee all QA activities across all of our projects.  The pillars of our QA methodology include:

  • Compliance management to ensure we deliver contracted services and that they are aligned with contract requirements and expectations
  • Risk management
  • Issue management and escalation procedures
  • Schedule and budget management
  • Communications management
  • Deliverable and milestone quality management
  • Subcontractor management

In addition, we provide templates and specific guidance to our team so they have the means and knowledge to ensure we meet quality expectations for our clients. As part of our QA program we perform quality assessments of our project work periodically during our performance.
